Maria Mittelbrunn Appointed Academic at the Royal Academy of Sciences

At the plenary session last Wednesday, November 30, three new corresponding academics were appointed in the Natural Sciences section.

Tomàs Marquès Bonet, (Barcelona, ​​​​1975) is a principal researcher at the Institute of Evolutionary Biology, Pompeu i Fabra University, (IBE-CSIC) where he directs the Comparative Genomics group.
Marquès will be in charge of the Genomics and Evolution area and joins the institution at the proposal of academics Ana Crespo, Ángela Nieto and Miguel Delibes.

The biochemist María Mittebrunn (Madrid, 1977) who currently works at the Severo Ochoa Molecular Biology Center (CBM-CSIC) joins the RAC at the request of Esteban Domingo, Manuel de León and Ángela Nieto. Its position is linked to the area of ​​Immunology, inflammation and aging.

The professor of Zoology at the Complutense University of Madrid, Fernando Pardos Martínez, will occupy the area of ​​Terminology and Biological Nomenclature. His candidacy has been presented by academics Luis Franco, Miguel Delibes and Ana Crespo.
