María Mittelbrunn has been elected as a member of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), joining the 71 scientists from 23 countries selected for the organization’s 2026 Membership.
EMBO Membership is awarded to researchers who have made outstanding contributions to the life sciences and is considered one of the highest honors in European scientific research. Members are elected by their peers and contribute to strengthening the international scientific community through mentoring, evaluation, and scientific leadership.
The newly elected Members will be officially welcomed during the EMBO Members’ Meeting, to be held in Heidelberg, Germany, from September 30 to October 2, 2026.
