Housing state‑of‑the‑art laboratories and bringing together leading researchers from diverse disciplines, the institute will focus on areas such as cancer, infectious diseases, autoimmune, chronic conditions. Beyond scientific excellence, the CaixaResearch Institute aims to foster collaboration between basic research, clinical practice, and society, promoting talent development and international partnerships. Its launch strengthens the biomedical ecosystem of Barcelona and positions the city as a key reference point in European and global life sciences research.
